Irvine California is actually a place that I’ve never been a huge fan of. Here’s why, I have been a life long Utah State Aggies fan. As such, I go back to the days when USU was in the Big West. As a member of that conference, one of the schools that we played against was the UC Irvine Anteaters. And not only that, they were a challenging school.
But now that I’ve read a little more about the area, I’m completely amazed by it. It is a huge area that maintains a sterling image in the heart of Orange County. For example, if you are looking to purchase real estate in Irvine California, the median cost of the 1,400 homes for sale is over $600,000. What’s even more crazy about that, is the fact that it isn’t even ocean front property. There are cities along the ocean front in Orange County that have lower valued homes than Irvine does. Irvine has been able to do that because it has natural beauty, and both the city government and citizens have also worked to maintain the clean feel, and affluent feel of this great city.

Here are my thoughts – before I die I want to own one of these homes. I mean, who doesn’t want a house that would cost $37 million dollars along the Pacific Ocean? Okay, cost aside, imagine this – 13 acres with your own private lake, retractable walls to experience the perfect California air as the sun sets, guest houses, spa house, 17 car garage, and that doesn’t even really scratch the surface. OK, the surface might be scratched, but hardly. So if you’ve got 37 million dollars of cash floating around, I know exactly what to do with it.
If you are wondering if Orange County is a wealthy part of the world, think about this for a minute.
California has nearly 250 homes for sale that are over 10 million dollars actively listed on the MLS right now. Orange County has 1/4 of those homes. Considering the population of Orange County to be just over 3 million, and California to be over 36 million, the OC should only have 1/12 of the $10,000,000 and up homes. That means that there are four times more the extremely rich and wealthy living in Orange County than anywhere in California, and California itself already has some of the wealthiest people in the country. This is the land of affluence and excessively beautiful real estate.
